About Us

Our Property

The Burkhalters acquired the property in 2020 during the pandemic in hopes of creating a small farm to retire on. The beautiful pastures in the original purchase were the inspiration for many local artists and a treasure trove for local gemologists.

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Mineral Bluff, GA. Originally part of the Davis Family Farm, the land was acquired as part of the National Land Acquisition Program. The Davis Family moved to the property and began removing trees and clearing land for pastures. These pastures and the heavy-flowing creek are still in place today and set the backdrop for the beautifully appointed Staurolite Barn.

Mineral Bluff

Mineral Bluff, GA is an unincorporated community in Fannin County, just 6 miles outside of the bustling downtown area of Blue Ridge, GA. With the beautiful backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the town has kept its quaint appeal. The historic train station has been restored and is open for touring on Depot Street.

Originally called Douglas, the settlement was founded in 1830 and known nationwide for its huge tannery. The current town name, Mineral Bluff, was adopted in 1885. A working class was established and a school for children, banks, hotels, and large homes started to go up on Main Street, creating the foundation for this wonderful town.

Inspiration Behind the Ranch

The Burkhalters’ great grandmother’s ranch in Knoxville is the inspiration behind the ranch. Every Christmas, the family would converge there to horseback ride, ride motorcycles, and share family stories and laughs. As time went on, the love for the ranch only grew and it became the inspiration behind Burkhalter Ranch.

With those memories in mind, the Burkhalter Ranch quickly grew from a small idea into the wonderful property we now have that incorporates the loving, close family feeling into each of our facilities.
